In early 2016, Kingston announced that it had acquired USB flash technology from IronKey and assets. IronKey USB acquisition by Kingston and DataLocker The products continued under the same name and later IronKey hard drives were added to the IronKey family. In September 2011, IronKey was acquired by Imation. Since 2011, we have worked with the Dutch government to get two IronKey models (x200 and x250) certified and these were recommended to be used for classification level RESTRICTED (Departementaal Vertrouwelijk). The US government has deployed IronKey products in several areas.
